For those of you still sleeping on Sy, please wake the f*%k up. This singer/songwriter has been on the scene for a minute. Whether it be doing shows or writing for other artists, Sy is a force to be reckoned with. She is constantly pushing the boundaries of music giving us a break from the melancholy music of today which we call R&B. This is off of her 2005 release The Cyberspace Social but still sounds as if it came out yesterday.

Stop sleepin’ on this duo from Southside Jamaica Queens gosh darn it. Ya’ll almost made me curse up in here. HEAVy (Casey Benjamin and Nicky Guiland) has a sound all their own and this one is off of their 2007 album JazzMoney so make sure ya’ll pick that up (don’t download). By all means this isn’t a brand brand new video, but people are still sleeping on my girl from England. Pay attention to her unique voice and how her melodies penetrate the track like a…like a…well…(I’ll leave that one alone). Off of her debut album 19, she is one to watch for in the coming years.

Yes, this album is over a year old but, some of you are still sleeping hard on this one. I’ll even go as far as saying that this album ranks up there with the Champion Sound – Jaylib album. Projects like this allow me to fall in love with hip hop music all over again. Listen up…..
