Fresh Quote – Seth Godin

Consistent as in not stopping to say, “my turn.” Persistent as in long-lasting, not as in annoyingly over the top. And with permission, because interacting without delivering anticipated, personal and relevant messages is a waste at best, annoying at worst.Seth Godin

Kanye West Shortfilm: We Were Once A Fairytale

Ummmmmmm……uhhhhh…..
I’m all for art, as you all know, but I’m completely confused. And on top of confusion, Kanye’s shag is distracting. If anyone knows what the hell this means, please let me know. I’ll save my interpretation for the comments section.

FreshPick: Kev Brown – Random Joints

Another Random Joint – Kev Brown from Humble Monarch on Vimeo.

One of the pluses of the internet is that it has leveled the playing level and indie artists and labels have risen. Yes it equals less money (kinda), but it now gives us listeners more access to less watered down crap. We can now pick and choose what we want to listen to instead of having MTV and radio force feed us doo doo.

Here is a joint from Kev Brown which I’m feelin. It kinda has a RZA vibe to it (‘94 RZA) as he delivers rhymes in a Pete Rock fashion over the track. Great to see Kev getting his music out. He’s definitely an underrated producer.

Random sidenote: Definitely feelin’ London’s beat culture

One Foot In the Grove (London)

Mutate Britain brings us what seems to be an interesting showing. Located in Ladbroke Grove, there will be an abundance of street art including installations and sculptures, screen-prints, stencil art, paintings, graffiti, photographs, object d’art, bric a brac and renegade pottery.

Some of the artwork may be challenging but we do intend for the exhibition to be child friendly and with food stalls and beer available in medieval proportions we aim to make it an entertaining family event.

Needless to say, I’ll be there this weekend to check it out. I’ll have pics for you nerds next week…
