Some new…well not exactly new, but my first time hearing about these folks. Pollyn is an LA based electro pop atmospheric dope band that has been puttin it down for 10 yrs now. This is their latest effort, Gave It Up, has too many elements for me to try to sum up in one word but the lead singer has an incredible voice. It might be time for me to go check them out live.

Former auto engineer, Finale, quit his day job after Dilla introduced him to Madlib as one of the best in the game. Not sure I agree with that statement (all due respect) but this kid is kinda ill. I still need to hear some more from him but he seems pretty solid.

New joint from Mikkey. I must say that I’m not that much up on him (pause) or his background but this track is pretty fresh. The only thing that I could’ve done without is the girl singing the hook. Other than that though, Mikkey delivered with the flow and No gave him a pretty nice track.
This week, Walrus TV brings you an interview with art pioneer Andrew Witten, also-known-as graffiti legend, Zephyr. Pulled from the Dithers series (for the first time available to the public for free), Zephyr talks about his early days as a train painter in New York, and his time spent with some of graff history’s most-notable and influential artists.
During the early 80s, it was Zephyr who was part of the first wave of graffiti artists who made the transition into the galleries in the East Village. Alongside fellow artists Futura 2000 and Dondi White, Zephyr helped take graffiti to the next level; pulling it out of the streets and putting it into the galleries, their phenomenal work gained the praise and respect of graffiti heads, collectors, and art critics alike.

Less than 24 hours off the press, 2dopeboyz posted this exclusive by Cass. I haven’t listened to it yet, but I’m that confident that this is a fresh pick (c’mon, it’s Cassidy). The mixtape is hosted by Carmelo (down by 1 to LA as we speak). Check it out and enjoy nerds…. track list after the jump.

I’ll be the first to admit that I think Sai is one of the dopest MC’s I’ve heard in awhile butter uhh….not sure what’s happening here. Where is Jus Blaze? And these Kickdrum guys are overrated….IMO.
