Walrus TV Artist Feature: Hera Interview

Courtesy of Walrus TV/Upper Playground
In the latest Walrus TV Artist Feature, Hera discusses everything from her childhood, to her views on art. Taking her name from the Greek Goddess Queen, she’s inspired by mythological creatures and the high drama of her namesake. Hera enjoys the disposable nature of street art because her tastes change from day to day. Each of her pieces is like her child and she tries to find “good homes” for them on the street. As you hear the artist speak about her craft, you see her painting one of her trademark pieces – half Bambi, half girl – a true expression of innocence.

I’m Teaming Up With Event Chaser…
If you haven’t noticed the orange ticket on my sidebar as of yet, I’d like to introduce you nerds to a dope site that I found via Twitter: Eventchaser.com.
Event Chaser combines two things I love: music and blogging. They do this by providing free or discounted tickets to bloggers. They’ve teamed up with Razorgator to make it all happen.
Razorgator is an online ticketing site that has concerts, plays, sporting events, pretty much any event you buy tickets to. They’ve really taken steps to help you get the most out of your event by helping you figure out what’s nearby (food, bars, good parking, etc). Very helpful if you’re like me and don’t mind driving to new places to check out your artists. In exchange for the tickets I’ll be the eyes and ears for future visitors to make sure they have a fresh experience.
All in all, I’m REALLY excited about this partnership with Event Chaser and Razorgator. For my first event, I’ll be receiving a pair of Bill Maher tickets. You’ll definitely be hearing more from me as I check out some more fly events this year!

FreshArt: Walrus TV Artist Feature: Kostas Seremetis Says “You Must Paint What You Love!”
As part of Upper Playground’s interview series, Dithers, listen in as photographer Ricky Powell interviews painter Kostas Seremetis in his studio in New York City. Kostas discusses how he got his start initially as an animator and was rejected from all of the art schools that he applied to – but that didn’t stop him from pursuing his dream and becoming a successful painter. Seremetis discusses the importance of painting what he loves – and that includes super heroes, comic books, sci-fi movies and samurai movies. The interview is inspirational, gives you a great glimpse into Kostas’ studio and what inspires each piece. Watch the interview now at Walrus TV.
