This is a crazy piece that I’m assuming is composed of oil. I couldn’t find much info on Glenn Brown, but this is an amazing piece that I had to share. If anyone knows of any information on Glenn, help a fellow nerd out. More pics inside…
Google “Gagosian Gallery”, under “Artists” you will fined Glenn Brown. I too think his work is phenomenal! and note… the surface of his paintings is totaly flat… as opposed to the one in Auerbach’s work. Enjoy
Theres an glenn Brown exhibition on at tate Liverpool at the moment and is well worth seeing, you can get the feeling of what he’s trying to say with his work when u see it for real as its all about reproducing paintings and how that loses the texture of the paint. He has painted pictures based on famous painters without any texture and has painted every tiny brushstroke on creating an illusion of texture. it had me looking at them from all angles I thought they were photographs! also on some of the images there were parts out of focus… mind blowing!!
