Yup, you’re not seeing things. Nas’ classic piece Illmatic is being turned into a book. Dr. Michael Eric Dyson (Georgetown professor and author of Holla If You Hear Me) has gathered some bright minds in order to engage on one of the greatest classics of our time. Here is what Dyson told AllHipHop:
“Every song on Illmatic will be analyzed, interpreted and then re-articulated in a kind of intellectual sense from his own base in Hip Hop and we’re trying to deal with that seriously.“
Release date as of now is January 2009. I will definitely keep you nerds posted….
