So word on the street is that this joint isn’t exactly new but will be appearing on Tip’s forthcoming album, The Renaissance, set for release in early November. Either way, this joint is kinda fire. And D’Angelo on the hook doesn’t hurt either when it comes to giving the track that funk. Enjoy….

So if you nerds aren’t up to speed on super production duo, Cool and Dre, then let me give you a quick run down on their discography. These cats have been reppin’ Miami since I was in High School and going strong ever since. They have worked with 50 Cent (Hate It or Love It), Jah Rule (New York, one of my favorite beats of all time), The Game (My Life ft. Lil Wayne), Lil Wayne (Phone Home) and the list goes on folks. I was able to catch up to half of the duo to get a FreshNerd exclusive 21 question interview.

Alright nerds, I’ve had it with certain words that some people have been abusing for the past x years. I think it’s time that we put these words/phrases to rest and create some new ones. That’s what hip hop is about, creating that new ish. So help me spread the word nerds, lets end this madness:

5. “Turn me up in my headphones” – any notes and/or comments you may have for the producer can be said while you’re not recording

4. “We in the building!” – see my earlier post

3. “Stand Up!” – I don’t like being told what to do, I’ll stand up when I’m ready.

2. “Early!” – I’m a night person…I can’t stand mornings

1. Swagger – Do I even need to explain? This phrase has been run into the ground. It’s time to send it to the same burial grounds we sent “bling, bling” (but not before S.L.U. pt. 2 with Nas & Andre 3000 comes out)

Until next time….

FreshArt: Banksy Mural in SoHo

Spotted over at Gothamist:

A huge Banksy mural was spotted being put up in Soho at Wooster and Grand this morning. At first it appeared that it was possibly Banksy himself painting the huge rat, but the painter’s American accent quickly revealed that it was not in fact the pseudo-anonymous British graffiti artist.

After initially dodging questions, the painter revealed that he was working for the sign painting company Colossal Media and was given the commission. It’s expected that the mural will be completed later today. Banksy may or may not be in town for the Lazarides show on Houston and Bowery, but it’s possible he’s nearby and watching the painting go up.

more pics after the jump….

This is one of my favorite joints off of this mixtape hands down. I can’t say I’m completely sold on Charles as of yet, but I’m getting there. My final decision will be when he releases his first album so I can see what he’s coming with. As of right now, he’s come with so many different styles I’m not sure what’s what. Until then nerds, this will do.

So I’ve heard about this whole bleaching thing here and there, but I didn’t realize it was out of control like this. I love my Jamaican people but c’mon….put the bleach down! I thought we were passed the days of dark skin people wanting to be light skin. As a matter of fact, I thought dark skin has been “in” ever since Wesley Snipes first came on the scene. What irony….caucasians with the tanning phenomenon and blacks bleaching……go figure. All jokes aside though, we really need to break the slave/master mentality of thinking. And that goes for black, brown, white, yellow, puple……..everybody. That’s my positive rant for the day, I’m out like trout.
