I’m not mad at this joint at all. Everybody came right over this well deserved track. It is a bit of a throwback (kinda “Pete Rock”ish) but what each MC has to say is very relevant and true to the state of hip hop today.

Keri Hilson ft. Timbaland – Return The Favor

Here is another track off of Keri Hilson’s debut album In a Perfect World. In a perfect world this song would be decent. I feel it’s a bit boring….during the halfway point of the song I started to drift off in thought about my laundry that needs to be done today. Anyways, somebody out there will like this….*shrugs

Feel My Heartbeat – LL Cool J ft. 50 Cent

Well, we finally get to here what the LL and 50 collab is bringing to the table. And it sounds just as I thought it would sound, FORCED. Maybe I am being overly critical but I’m sure yall will tell me if I’m trippin…..right??

WTF: Hip Hop “Un”quotable – Shawty Lo

Pictures like this force me to hate hip hop sometimes…..and so do lines like this. I wonder what was going through his mind as he wrote this down on paper (if only yall knew how I felt typing it).

FreshPick: The Glow – Mos Def

Mos Def returns with a new joint. It’s nowhere near anything off of the Black on Both Sides album, but it still has a head nod factor. Personally, I’m still waiting on a Black Starr reunion….c’mon yall.

David Choe Interview
If you guys aren’t familiar with David’s work, make sure to check out my previous post showcasing his Obama prints. Here is a dope interview with a quick look into why he doesn’t care about conspiracy theories and why he thinks Bush is the greatest president we have ever had.

FreshPick: Go – Miguel

Another heat rock from the homie Miguel out of LA. It’s not new but who cares….its bangin’. Still no ETA on the album release date. Hopefully Jive doesn’t sit on the album much longer.

FreshPick: Chaos – Mute Math

If yall haven’t noticed by now, my musical taste is eclectic. Mute Math is from New Orleans and have been together since 2003. They’re definitely a rock band per se, but I wouldn’t corner them into that genre as you can hear new wave, jazz, and electro influences in the music. This track is off of their 2006 self titled album.
